In February 1978 George composed songs for his album George Harrison. The same day that he wrote Dark Sweet Lady for Olivia, he composed an unreleased humorous song called 'Sooty goes to Hawaii'.
Has anyone read or heared anything about this last one?

Nope, I remember reading that he had recorded a song by that tittle but that's all that was mentioned...
P.S. : You mean that there's actually something about George that you DON'T know ?

P.S. Yes there still are things I don't have the answer too ofcourse.
Whilst reading The Beatles Diary Volume 2 After the break-up 1970-2001 by Keith Badman I came to this thing.
But help may be on its way.
It is always nice to pick up 'new' bootlegs.

I remembered where I'd seen it mentioned. There is mention of it in ..err..em.. the infamous Guiliano publication. It says he did 'several versions of a wild instrumental called "Sooty Goes to Hawaii".'

It's not all fiction what he writes.

Well I guess that it has to be based on truth. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/wink1.gif

Well for what it's worth, GG wrote that among the tunes recorded was a tittle track for Terry Gilliam's film Brazil, various versions of a wild instrumental called "Sooty Goes To Hawaiiii" and a Mexican folk song (with his father in law).
Either GG is very well informed, or he wrote this after a nice dream.
We may find out when Dhani's back from vacation.

Maybe it'll show up as a bonus track on the George Harrison reissue.

I remember reading somewhere about the Mexican folk song with his father in law (love to hear that one), I don't think it was from GG though, so maybe it is more than just a dream as well as Sooty Goes To Hawaii is then too.

Thanks Paolo. Well, he did do one about Bonzo the dog. Maybe Guiliano got confused. images/icons/wink.gif
