It is about whenever a relationship hits a down point - instead of whatever other people do (like breaking each other's jaws) George wrote a song.

It was a chance to realise that if he felt somebody had let him down, then there is a good chance George was letting someone else down. We all tend to break each other's heart, taking and not giving back - isn't it a pity.

Well, this is what George writes in The book, but looking at the period of writing I have always considered it to be about the break-up and/or Paul.
