I was recently listening to both Wilbury cds,
and was wondering if any of the Wilburys had ever performed any of those songs live on tour. I had thought maybe Dylan has.

George in I Me Mine; 'I met Kissinger and Ford. Ford was very friendly, Kissinger looked like an Arab, talked like a German and was tanned all over, like Clark Gable, he was a bit like Charlie Chaplin, like a Rutle.

As far as I know, George hasn't. I have no idea if Jeff, Tom or Bob have done any.

They were seriously conssidering performing live but the death of Roy Orbison ruled this out:-(
George Harrison, Bob Dylan, John Fogerty, Taj Mahal and Jesse Ed Davis did perform as the freewheelin' Wilburys though. The show consisted of 15 classic rock songs with all five members doing solos and singing together. Here is the track listing to a bootleg cd: 1. Farther on Down the Road 2-3 Matchbox 4. Knock on Wood 5. Midnight Hour 6. Honey Don't 7. Blue Suede Shoes 8. Watching the River Flow 9. Proud Mary 10. Johnny B Goode 11. Hand Jive 12. Peggy Sue 13. Dizzy Miss Lizzy 14. Lucille 15. Twist and Shout

Now we're getting somewhere. Bob Dylan played Congratulations on some gigs.
Here is the link to a bootleg site, when you go to 1989, the 4th bootleg Various June Venues, mentions Congratulations, also also further on.

Unless ofcourse it is another Congratulations, but e.g. I do not see Bob doing Cliff Richard's song.

I just downloaded the Congratulations song and it is the Wilbury song, but in a different - Dylanish - style.
It is on Audiogalaxy, named

"Congratulations" was already kind of Dylan-ish on Volume I. This version is good also, thanks for sharing. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif

That is most likely a well known bootleg which is from George's "Live In Japan" tour.

No, actually the Live Wilbury Album takes some Wilbury tracks as well as the individual solo tracks of the Wilbury's from that period and presents them with an audience backtrack of applause between the songs.
None of the tracks are live, but with the audience track between the songs it's does give you the impression of what a 'Live' Wilbury concert would have sounded like.
I have this CD and it literally gave me chills the first time I heard it!!! It's a great 'Fantasy' album and I highly recommend it, but don't pay too much for it!!!!

Hah, yes, Audiogalaxy!
Anyway, don't forget Tom's rendition of "Handle Me With Care" at the Concert for George.

Tom's also done that one on a couple of his own gigs, not long before doing it on the CFG

I thought Jeff Lynn did the Roy Orbison parts nicely at The Concert for George.

The closet thing to a Wilbury show was Tom and Bobs joint tour or Jeff and Tom at Concert For George. I'm kinda glad there were no Wilbury shows. I like the fact they were limited in what they did.

ABCKO, Jeff can do any Roy Orbison part as well as Roy could!!! If you listen to Jeffy's first solo album, Armchair Theatre, the first track was actually written for Roy and some of the other tracks you can tell were written with Roy's vocals in mind.
I highly recommend that album!

I have that album... Jeff is a fine singer...
... but putting him in the same vocal league as Roy Otbison... is like saying that Paul McCartney can sing like Caruso.
And if you have the clip of Jeff singing "It's over", you'll hear that Jeff himself says that he can't sing as well as Roy did.
I've never heard it mentionned anywhere that ''Every little thing" was meant for Roy... in that case, it must have been written well before he started the sessions for that allbum, as it came out over a years-and-a-half after Roy'd passed away.
