Go Cat Go! It kinda makes sense to me in a way. A couple of songs that way is OK but also some original Wilbury tunes (Especially George's) would be GREAT!

I would definitely like to have a new Traveling Wilburys album. I see no reason why using some of Perkins' unreleased material shouldn't work. It's been done before.

What can I add to that except I would really prefer a solo effort from George.

The third album from the Traveling Wilburys to include Carl Perkins?
The four surviving Wilburys; Bob Dylan, Jeff Lynne, Tom Petty, and George Harrison, will suposidly be joined by Carl Perkins in their next album, but there is a slight catch; just like Lefty Wilbury - Roy Orbison, Perkins is sadly dead. This won't stand in the way of the Wilburys though! - Apparently Nelson Wilbury has contacted Stan Perkins (Carl's Son) to try to gain access to some unreleased songs by the late rock and roll legend. Stan has offered the group four tracks from his dad's vault, including; "You Can't Run Away From the Blues" and "One of These Days." The remaining Wilburys plan to incorporate the tracks into the new album (not unlike what The Beatles did with John Lennon's tapes for The Beatles Anthology) This isn't for definate, however, and Warner Bros., which released the first two Wilburys albums, says nothing has been scheduled yet. But it's certainly possible that since there's been a management shift at Warners since the last Wilburys album, the group may choose to go elsewhere, with DreamWorks seeming a likely candidate as it is run by the former Warner Bros. kingpins Mo Ostin and Lenny Waronker.

http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/nono.gif I like Perkins just fine but the don't have to do that. Just the five of them would great enough...

P.S. : I consider Jim Keltner a full Wilbury, that's why I said five...

Mind you, if they really want to do tracks featuring someone who's no longer with us, seems to me Roy Orbison would be an even more obvious choice...

P.S.: Pie Man, where did you find the information for you original post ?

Now that I think of it...If the TW's ever do decide to rework a song by a deceased member of the Rock'n Roll community, they should do a Roy Orbison song...

I meant an un-released Orbison song or demo (like the Beatles did for "Free as a bird" & "Real love").

Like what Jeff Lynne did for "Heartbreak radio" on the posthumus Orbison album "King of hearts". I wonder if, after that album, there are any un-used Orbison tracks left...

My first wish, if there ever is another TW's album, is just the five of them (like on Volume 3).
