I live for you is expected to be one of the bonus tracks on All Things Must Pass.
What do you think of the song. It is on various bootlegs.
It is a basic song compared to various others on this album. Drums, bass, accoustic guitar and Peter Drake's steel guitar.
George is very clear here, only I find the badge not so good, maybe that's why the song was rejected.

My Sweet Lord was inspired by the Edwin Hawkins Singers song Oh Happy Day - George in I Me Mine.

Going through some old topics and I came across this one. I'm moving it to Crackerbox Palace.

Thanks and a good time to bring it forward again.
The one which is now on ATMP is in my personal opinion not the best of the various demos of this song.

The Star Club recording was the crummiest recording ever made in our name. It was a wild affair, we were just a bunch of drunken musicians grabbing guitars - George May 6, 1998

The version of "I live for you" on bootlegs is actually longer then the version on the new "ATMP" release.I don't have the new "ATMP" but FPSHOT e-mailed me the song, I prefer the version I have on "Songs for Patty" but it's a beautiful song anyway.

The song is just great. I haven't heard it in bootlegs or anything, I only have the ATMP version, and it's just so simple and nice, so cute... With a great guitar work. I love the lyrics. I think that's an amazing bonus track for the new edition of ATMP. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/thumbsup.gif

This is one of the first topics at Crackerbox Palace, now we had My Sweet Lord 2000 as today's song, I was playing the album and came upon this beautiful song...
I live for you..
What are your thoughts on this song.. did you have it on Boot Legs before the re-release? Do you like this country approach which is all through the album?

I had never heard this before the re-release of ATMP - I don't have a great collection of boots. I think it's a beautiful song. His voice sounds so young and tender. I'm generally not a huge country fan, but George does a great job. There is a country feel to other songs on the album, but more subtle than this one.

I absolutely LOVE that song! George sounds so wonderful on it. It does have a country vibe to it.

Just a beautiful, beautiful song. Great heartstirring vocals from George. I only have the remastered ATMP version and a little over 3 minutes from the Through Many Years Boot, so not enough to really compare.
I really like the country/rootsy sound that runs through ATMP. Although I can barely stand to listen to more than about 30 seconds http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif from what is called Contemporary Country Music, I do like countryish sounding guitars and think it perfectly suits the songs from ATMP it's featured on.
