Hey, really cool place, lot's of stuff to check out. It's going to take me "time, a whole lot of precious time. It's going to take plenty of time..." for me to catch up but I'm working on it. Seems much better than a certain other GH board I've been on...right FPSHOT ?
Was just playing "Poor house" by the Wilburys, really great guitar by George. He's done so much great guitar parts over the last 40 years (dear God, has it really been that long since "Cry for a shadow"...) that it's easy for one to slip through the cracks of one's memory.

Great line in the registration form for this board, the one about "posting a cure for cancer" ! I think I might be able to enjoy myself here...

Welcome to our forums ABCKO. Does this mean you've actually found a cure? The Wilburys stuff is really good "driving" music. When will they ever put out another album?

Welcome to Beatlelinks, ABCKO! You'll enjoy it here, I can almost guarantee it!
And, Jerry, how can the Traveling Wilbury's do another album when Roy Orbison is no longer around to fill out the band?? Who would replace him?

Excellent question: Who's the next Wilbury gonna be? I vote... Elvis! Oops, he's unavailable. My suggestions, take your pick: Billy Preston. Roger McGuinn. Paul Simon (seriously). Andy Williams (just kidding!) Hey -- howsa bout Leon Russell??? Or Taj Mahal? Dave Mason??(either Mason or Leon could really kick some butter with those guys!)

I would vote for Dion (of the Belmonts fame)or Why not RINGO!?

I'd say they did pretty well without Orbison on the 2nd Wilburys album. They don't need a replacement - they just need to get their crap together to make another record before another one of them isn't with us. Think about it - since that 2nd record, Harrison and Dylan almost died.

As for the Traveling Wilburys, they really need to put out something new soon. I don't think they need a replacement for Roy, but if Ringo wants to sit in then I say; "Go for it!"

A very warm welcome to you mr. ABKCO.
We've been expecting you
It's such a joy at Crackerbox Palace.
On the Wilburys, George has referred to new material to be recorded when he was talking about his own #1,so let's wait and see.
He did not say(yet) that there will not be a new Wilbury album as long as Roy is dead.

Thanks for all the welcomes !
As far as a new TW album, they did a good enough job on Vol. #3 just the 5 of them (I consider Jim Keltner as a full-fledged Wilbury !) so they don't need to replace Roy. Besides, if they did...I can see it now "So & so did O.K. but Roy was better...". Roger McGuin is not a bad choice though... But like Jerry said, they better hurry before they lose another Wilbury...
P.S. : I love Ringo but I'm not sure he be right for the TW (just an impression). Besides, Keltner's drumming on the first two albums more than justifies his return !
P.P.S.: I always forget, Ringo & Keltner... witch one is "Lightning" and witch one is "Thunder" ?
Be seeing you...

Welcome ABCKO, you really will enjoy your staying here... Yeah Paul Simon would be a great Wilbury... But Ringo is my choice. Definitely. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/thumbsup.gif
