Help me here, George people. I may be crazy, but I'm not delusional. In the mid-70s I got an album for me birfday. It was a George. It was orange. It was not Extra Texture. The group photo of musicians on the front included Ravi Shankar with a baritone sax strapped around his neck and a big grin on his face. The music was fabulous. A kind of Indian/jazz fusion, with excellent jamming around orchestrated string sections. Never heard nothin like it. So good, in fact, it got stolen -- by (notmagic) Alex, right before he split to join up with the Rainbow people out west. The only vocal was "I am missing you, Lord Krishna, where are you?" First cut on side one. I would love to get another copy or a dub, but I can't even remember the name of the daggone thing, let alone find it in any discographies. It ain't there. And this is not some dumb attempt to stir up a hoax. All I want is the truth -- wot wuzzit? Won't you please help me?

George with a saxophone on a fruity colored album cover you say. Well you certainly can't say that he lacked imagination or anything like that. Maybe it was an alternate take of Think For Yourself. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/fish.gif

I don't really recall any LP of George's that looked like that. If I come up with anything, I'll let you know.

Don't recall seeing THAT George lp. Have you checked out Ravi's catalog? Perhaps it's not a George lp at all, but one he helped Ravi with.

Couldn't see your pic, Oc. But if it's a group photo with Ravi & a sax, that's it. What's it called? On Apple? I don't even remember. I did check out the Ravi Shankar site, it's not listed unless it's in with the expensive box.
The music was great. Kind of like what Wonderwall was building toward, minus the electronics. Jam quality superb. Anyone else out there have a clue?

Thanks Bearcat, Octopus. Wrong cover illo, but the timeframe sounds right and it did have a bunch of musicians. Might be an alternate cover or something. If it's got the tune "I am Missing You, Lord Krishna" then it's gotta be it. If we can get a positive ID then I can proceed, since that album is something I must possess (again).
It's also a good feeling to know there are such helpful people out there. Guess it goes with the territory. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/rainbow2.gif
