Considering the events that happened there back in December 1999, I can see why he'd want to sell it. If the price is right, I'd like to live there. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/grin.gif

I've seen that off & on for a while. Don't know if it's true or rumour, but it's not new.
I've got an idea... why don't we put all our money together & buy it from him! 120 rooms, get about 60 people together - we could afford it then! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/grin.gif

I don't know... Let's see... One american dollar is about 600 chilean pesos. I have about 1800 pesos... Add US$ 3.00. Although you never know with our economy and I'm not sure if I'd want to share Friar Park with Nowhere Man http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/rolleyes.gif
Joking aside, it can be totally understood why George wants to sell the house. Perhaps he might feel safer in a more retired place (even more retired). Whatever is right for him should be appreciated by us, as long as it makes him go on recording music, which is we're all hoping for.

English newspaper The Mail on Sunday ran an "exclusive" story today stating that George is planning to sell Friar Park because he no longer feels safe living there (surprise surprise).
I hope this isn`t true, I`ve always enjoyed the thought of him pottering around in his garden not to far away.
I noticed he said "I'd" and not "we".http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/laugh2.gif

Here's the latest news about Friar Park:
Harrison not selling the scene of the crime
(Launch) - Contrary to reports published in the U.K., former Beatle George Harrison is not selling the British countryside home in which he was attacked by a knife-wielding intruder nearly a year and a half ago. Harrison, through his Los Angeles-based manager, is refuting a story in the British newspaper The Mail that Friar Park, the singer-guitarist's 120-room mansion that sits on a 34-acre spread in Henley-On-Thames, Oxfordshire, is on the market. Harrison and his wife, Olivia, were attacked on Dec. 30, 1999, by Michael Abram, a heroin addict who believed Harrison was a witch that had to be slain. Harrison suffered a punctured lung, while Olivia saved the couple by striking Abram with a pool cue and table lamp. Abram is currently confined to a British psychiatric hospital.

What I meant is that you used the same sort of language - who tell him that it's wherever he says it is - as the famous argument that George and Paul had. If you do not know that one from Let it be, let it be.

I dont want to start any rumours, but George has been seen a couple of times in a shopping centre on the outskirts of Dublin this year, and rumour has it that he is looking for a property. His family originate in Co Wexford, famous for rebellion and strawberries (not necessarily in that order!) and peace and solitude, a lot of which George could use just now. We cant race horses this side of the pond at the moment, because of the dreaded foot & mouth.
There ya go folks.

If you have the luck of the Irish.
George has been to Ireland quite often for a few days rest, also after the stabbing.
