"My Sweet Lord" is my favorite George single from his solo works. I also like some of his later songs like, "When We Was Fab". What are some of yours?

"My Sweet Lord" is great, but my favorite is "Got My Mind Set On You".

This week, the Beatles' greatest hits album, "1", is at number thirteen on the USA album charts.

"Awaiting on you all" is tops with me.

I really enjoy George's cocky attitude in the single "This Song" where he takes on the whole "My Sweet Lord" copyright thing.

"Blow Away" makes me smile as well and I thought "This Is Love" was a very overlooked single from 1988.

My all-time George favorite is "Art Of Dying". And I pretty much like the whole "All Things Must Pass" album (including that particular song). But, if you talk about singles, yes, "My Sweet Lord" is the best. I can also mention "What Is Life", "Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth)", "When We Was Fab" (what a great song! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/cool.gif), "Blow Away" and "All Those Years Ago" as complete favorites of mine... http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/grin.gif

"When We Was Fab" and "My Sweet Lord", for sure. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif

I still remember where I was when I heard My Sweet Lord for the first time, the day from release on the radio.

It still is one of my favs regarding singles (I thought that was the question). The accoustical guitars and the O'Hara Smith Singers (=George) combination make it a top record.

Other singles on top-list;

Ding-Dong
This Song (also because of the B side with the amazing solo)
This is Love
Cheer down/poor little girl

My earliest memory of MTV is sitting around with my parents, watching the video for that song! Moose included!

With all my sincerity, I think if someone has to moderate this "Crackerbox Palace" Forum, that should be you, FPSHOT. Just a suggestion, though... http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif

Ugh! I don't think I can pick just one! But I'm with DarkHorse... Just the mention of "Art of Dying" tugged something deep down inside. "ATMP" is great - the whole thing...
I never grow tired of it. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/inlove2.gif

I think nobody does. In my humble opinion, it is the best and most solid solo releasing by any of the four Beatles. Not only for its three disc set, but because of its great continuity and the strength amongst all the songs. You can't just pick one. And, "What Is Life" wasn't a #1 hit only because "My Sweet Lord" was a #1 hit before... Those two, I think, are the best singles George ever released, going back with the topic.

Onothimagen! I like your moniker, too! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif If FT had been taken, I might've gone for yours next!

Yeah, DarkHorse - for a 3 LP set, it was awesome - no bad material!!! & to think it's made up of songs that the rest of the Beatles turned down... Too Bad!!! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif

John always said that the break-up could be perfectly considered as a good thing, as it let the best of them come out. George, as the "genius in the shadows" behind Lennon and McCartney, inside The Beatles, was trapped. "All Things Must Pass" was his oportunity to give all this wonderful material to the world's ears... http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif

And even when finally being able to release his own material, like ATMP, he went further by playing and writing some pretty good stuff for John and Ringo (and so many others) in that period early seventees.

I'm sitting here stunned at 2 things...the fact that I loved that song and video...it was so cool! And I just realized that was George...sometimes I can be so behind on things.
